Week 4

Day 1 ~ My work buddies, Leigh and Regina, returned after being on an RnD trip for nearly two weeks.  I missed them terribly and am so happy to have them back! :)
Kristin and Leigh

Day 2 ~ The store had a sale and I have a drinking problem, so this is the result.
Nectar of the gods

Days 3,4,5 ~ Yep.  This is how I felt these three days.
Mmmm...emotional eating

Day 6 ~ After a music showcase at Hope Coffee on the DTS campus, a couple of us played "Pitch" back at the dorm.
Sucy, Ann, and Kristin

Day 7 ~ I went to lunch after service with a couple of people from City Church International.
Kristin, Michelle, a married couple I forgot their names, Nathan, a guy I forgot his name, Camille, Twig, and Rosemary

I rejoice in the temporariness of my funky mood this week, pray the Lord will continue to remind me to reach out to friends if I'm feeling down, and am thankful the Lord has provided a plethora of opportunities for fellowship.

Week 2

Day 1 ~ This was a week of deliberate pampering since it was my last week of freedom before the new semester.  Monday's highlights consisted of a candlelit bubble-bath followed by a mani-pedi.
Relaxing and Bubbly

Day 2 ~ Because the country was in the midst of a freezing cold spell, I celebrated by building a fire in my fireplace nearly every day.
Warm and Toasty

Day 3 ~ After six months in Dallas, I finally made it out to Swing Night with some fellow DTS students.  It was wonderful to be dancing again...can't believe how much I missed it.
Shane?/Shawn?, Eun Soo, Kristin, Stacy, Rachel, Nile

Day 4 ~ Relaxation time continued on Thursday as I started work on a fun, new "twist scarf."  A twist scarf isn't really a thing, but I didn't like how the design was working out with the new yarn, so I twisted it and I like that effect better.
Soft and Cuddly

Day 5 ~ Abby had a brilliant idea to make "dream boards" about our hopes and dreams for the new year.  We flipped through magazines and cut out pictures and words, then glued them on a poster-board.  It was really cool to see my goals for 2015 mapped on in living color. :)

Serious Pizza Face

Day 6 ~ We decided to have a game night at Washington Hall.  Gestures and Hand & Foot were the games of the nights.
Club House at Washington Hall

Day 7 ~ My church, City Church International, had an "Encounter" service Sunday night.  It was a very moving time of singing and prayer aimed at the individual establishing a fuller connection to God and his purpose in their life.
Prayer For Our Healthcare Professionals (Megan)

I rejoice in the freedom to relax and enjoy life, pray that God helps me sustain my attitude of gratitude for the whole year, and am thankful for opportunities to feel God's presence in my life every single day. ✝

Week 1

Day 1 ~ Fun tradition at my office...our vendors send us tons of Christmas treats in the mail.  Our air carrier won the awesomest food basket award with this monstrosity of California themed snacks.

Mmm...workplace munchies

Day 2 ~ Abi, Megan, and I had a fun girlie night sorting through my closet for clothes and jewelry to wear on New Year's Eve.

Options galore!

Abi

Day 3 ~ New Year's Eve 2014 consisted of Abi, Megan, and I making a road trip down to Austin for a party at the ManPalace on the Lake.  It was bittersweet seeing everyone, again.  More sweet than bitter, though. :)

Day 4 ~  On New Year's Day I hosted a brunch at the Iron Cactus in an attempt to see as many people as I could in my short time in Austin.  It was very hard seeing so many of my favorite people and not being able to take them all back with me to Dallas.

The gang

Day 5 ~ Our office was unable to keep up with the drop in temp outside, so Abby, Leigh, and I were sporting our finest furry blankets all day.

 Polar Bear Couture

Day 6 ~ Hand and Foot card night with Sucy and Abby.  (I won by a toenail.)

Kristin, Sucy, and Abby

Day 7 ~ I decided to move my furniture around (a monthly occurrence), and I needed a way to hid the cables and the back of my TV.  A trip to Home Depot for plywood, some wood glue, a couple of nails, a can of leftover white paint, and I have myself a cable hider/entry-way delineator.

Most hideous

Delineator...big word of the day

I rejoice in the wonderful Austin friendships which the Lord has blessed me with, pray that God helps me be a more intentional friend, and am thankful for the new friendships the Lord has given me in Dallas. ✝
